Abortion.....right or wrong
Okay... I have answered and tried to help some of you out on your presentations....now I am asking for help. My question to you would be...If you had to choose to abort because only one of you could live...baby or mother......how would you choose? I have an argument but I am not feeling that strong about it. My first argument was "who says that the mother's life is more important than the baby's and vice versa? Please do not try to use the arguments about it not being a baby etc.....My feeling is that I would not have to choose. I am not a doctor, I did not take an oath to save lives, the mother has already lived through experiences, everything happens for a reason, the women has the right to make choices about her own body (her free will) (what about the baby's right to life since it can not choose its own free will)...my argument might be that if the woman became pregnant due to want or carelessness, the baby's life should come first. When a woman becomes pregnant through no violation of her body (such as rape or incest), then it is morally right for her to accept the consequences of her actions and give the baby the right to develop and experience life.

I am sorry, I said it wrong. I meant, if a woman becomes pregnant but not by rape orincest, then she should accept the consequences and give the baby the chance to develop. I feel even though a woman is raped, etc.,it is not punishing her to make her have the child. I am thinking about an adult woman (not a thirteen yera old child) Whether she has the baby or doesn't have the baby, it will not make the pain or whatever she feels(I don't know because I never experienced it)go away. Why should the unborn child suffer the consequences. The woman after giving birth, if her maternal instincts do not kick in and she still feels hatred etc. for the child, can choose to put the child up for adoption. Yes, there are plenty of unwanted, abused children in the world but there are also plenty of women who can not have children that want them. I understand it is not a simple choice. I just think that there is a better (in my opinion) way. Do I think this is the only way? For me, yes. I have to admit, when I started this paper, I was probably about 95% one-sided, but I have come to the conclusion, that this is such a controversial issue, that there really is no right or wrong solution that could be used for everyone. Thanks for the feedback.
If it had to be absolute then I would have to say that he baby or fetus should not be aborted. If you could make a law that would work on a case by case basis, then I would say that rape would be an understandable reason to have an abortion.
Is better late than never!!!!
The word abortion sounds so painful(this is the way I feel it) and it sounds so bad at least society makes it sound real bad. When I hear it I get visual and I picture a innocent life being taken away. The problem with abortion is not abortion. It is the choice that women are given when they get pregnant. The first time I got pregnant my doctor ask me if I was going to keep the baby or not. He was just doing his job by asking that question. I told him that the question sounds very cold and it also tells us that we have choice. The problems is that we are always given choices and those choices makes us think.
