Texas Law is Smart

I think that the government should allow LAWFUL handgun permit carrying citizens to carry their firearms everywhere. This shooting could have been ended very quickly by a lawful gun carrier. A gun in the hand of evil is evil, a gun in the hand of good is good. Or in the immortal words of Larry the Cable Guy, "If guns kill people, I can blame misspelled words on my pencil."

God Bless Everyone in Hokie Country.

Then our country could be like Zimbabwe and we would have to try not to get anyone too upset. I don't think that they would be able to hold ethics classes anymore.........or at least the people would have to leave their guns at the door.

I don't think that everyone should own a gun because not everyone will use it for the same purpose (to prevent the evil from expanding0. We have the good and the evil in all of us (that is my own personal believe). I think some people will try to enforce power if given the opportunity to own one, others to threat in order to get what they want and others might use it for self defense.

In your psot, you said, "a gun in the hand of good is good and a gun in the hand of evil is evil"? How do you know who is good and who is evil? People change.......and can be very dishonest and deceitful.

If we can have guns to protect our home, why not to protect us when we are out. Self defense... The criminals have guns, the police have guns(and can not be in all places at all times)and the innocent die

The problem is how to determine who gets a license to carry a gun and who doesn't. Things like background checks on criminal records and whatnot are helpful, but not perfect. I mean, who's to say that guy who shot up V-Tech wouldn't have been eligible for the permit as well? Of course guns don't kill people, but they make it a hell of a lot easier to kill people.

Cars kill people....knives kill people.....a gun only puts the killer at a safer distance.
